Queen - Innuendo

Innuendo

Innuendo from 1991 is Queen's last album to be released while Freddie Mercury was alive. My favorite song is the title track "Innuendo". Others songs I like are "I'm Going Slightly Mad", "These Are the Days of Our Lives", "The Show Must Go On", "Don't Try So Hard", and "Ride the Wild Wind". This is a different sounding album then their past records. The songs can be dark, but it is a very strong album.

Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison

Let It Roll: Songs by George Harrison

This is a new collection of George Harrison's songs from the 1960s-1990s. The album also has some live versions of songs. My favorite song is "Rising Sun", from his 2002 posthumous album Brainwashed. Some of my other favorites are "Got My Mind Set on You", "Something" (Live at Madison Square Garden), and "Here Comes the Sun" (Live at Madison Square Garden). Other songs here are "Give Me Love (Give Me Peace on Earth)", "Ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp (Let It Roll)", "My Sweet Lord", "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" (Live at Madison Square Garden), "All Things Must Pass", "Any Road", "This Is Love", "All Those Years Ago", "Marwa Blues", "What Is Life", "Rising Sun", "When We Was Fab", "Blow Away", "Cheer Down", "I Don't Want To Do It", and "Isn't It a Pity". George Harrison had many great songs, and Beatles fans especially will love this collection.

The Beatles - Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

This classic Beatles album from 1967 is just stunning. The album is mostly psychedelic rock and pop music. Many of the songs have an orchestra playing throughout, making the album sound very different than their other albums. My favorite song is John Lennon's "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!". "A Day in the Life" and "Good Morning Good Morning" are very unique songs, with "A Day in the Life" being the most memorable song on the album. "Getting Better" is a very fun song to listen to and is another one of my favorites. "Within You Without You" is Indian style music. John Lennon is singing "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds" in this psychedelic rock song. "With a Little Help from My Friends", "Fixing a Hole", "She's Leaving Home", "When I'm Sixty-Four", "Lovely Rita", "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", and "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)" make up the rest of the album. Even after 40 years, the album is still very different than anything you will hear, and is a must own album for all Beatles fans. I also like their 1969 Abbey Road album. It ranks very high, and is blues-rock, rock, and hard rock music.

The Beatles - Abbey Road

Abbey Road

This album is from 1969. Abbey Road has a total of 17 songs. Some of the songs near the end are only a minute or so in length. These are some of the best songs though on the album. "Come Together" and "Something" are well known songs. "Maxwell's Silver Hammer", "Oh! Darling", "Octopus's Garden", "I Want You (She's So Heavy)", "Here Comes the Sun", "Because", "You Never Give Me Your Money", and "Sun King" are all good songs. The album gets rockin' with "Mean Mr. Mustard", "Polythene Pam", "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window", and "Carry That Weight". These are all great songs and my favorites of this album. "Carry That Weight" reminds me of the songs on the Sgt. Pepper album. Abbey Road is more rock oriented than Sgt. Pepper is. Like the Sgt. Pepper album, Abbey Road should be listened to by all.

The Beatles - 1

The Beatles 1

This has to be one of the best albums you can ever purchase from any era. It is a stunning collection of 27 of the Beatles songs from the 1960s. It is tough to select favorite songs here, but I really like "Eleanor Rigby", "We Can Work It Out", and "Lady Madonna". Other songs here are "Love Me Do", "From Me to You", "She Loves You", "I Want to Hold Your Hand", "Can't Buy Me Love", "A Hard Day's Night", "I Feel Fine", "Eight Days a Week", "Ticket to Ride", "Help!", "Yesterday", "Day Tripper", "Paperback Writer", "Yellow Submarine", "Penny Lane", "All You Need Is Love", "Hello Goodbye", "Hey Jude", "Get Back", "The Ballad of John & Yoko", "Something", "Come Together", "Let It Be", and "The Long and Winding Road". This is a great gift for any fan of the Beatles.
